My wife never tried to use it because of the fiddling you had to do. Also, when using favorites selecting a channel on a different sat than the one you were on didn't always move the dish to that sat. One was while in the sat list if you hit left or right it was supposed to move to the sat left or right. My S9 never worked right in a lot of ways. It has lots of options and features and when you consider the price, it's a steal.

Openbox v8s hd freesat full#
Receivers do get full of junk that may cause them to fail or can even brick them but I assume you know that too. If you know how the only tip I could offer off hand is to power it down before an upgrade. Is it erring or what seems to be the problem? I've had no problem updating it and without more details I assume you know what menu item to select etc. I'm using loop out to go to the V7 in the bedroom and I'm using a SCART adapter to send video through an RF modulator to the kitchen so the wife can keep up with her shows while she's cooking. Now I wish I hadn't, two V8 Supers is the way to go. People were saying the V7 got Decades etc and was nice and cheap so I bought one. So, no more than I got to use it I found it to be a great receiver, so much so I ordered another one. The dish is clamped down at 101w and I have a brand new Von Weise on the way, should be here Tuesday or Wednesday if they ship it today. While I was going back to scan, the motor went. I used the editor to put in the sats and one TP. I've had one for about a week and my motor stripped the acme nut while setting it up so it's sort of incomplete. Be sure and dump your channel list first.

Also my TV has switched itself off a couple of times, which has never happened before, so I think that's something to do with the Openbox. It sounds like something is wrong with it. A couple of times it's lost pictures on all channels, with only sound remaining, the only way to fix it has been to switch the box off at the mains. I'm fairly satisfied with the Openbox, but there have been some issues.

I did the scan during the day, so it labeled the BBC4 channels as CBeebies, because it shares the same frequency with it, but It means the BBC4 channels are showing CBeebies during the day, which they shouldn't be. You could try scanning that one transponder.īBC Parliament is 10788V along with BBC 1 & 2 Wales, BBC1 East, BBC1 East Midlands, BBC1 West Midlands, BBC1 Yorks & Lincs. I also think the Sky EPG isn't very well ordered with some channels all over the place, so for me a personalised channel list is much better, even though it takes time to do it.īBC4 HD is on the same transponder as BBC Scotland HD, BBC1 Scotland HD, BBC1 Wales HD, BBC News HD, & CBeebies HD on 11023H.

I like to flick through channels, having to trawl through lots of Sky channels isn't good for that. Not so much for me though, the Sky channel numbers start at 101, on the Openbox the first channel number is 1, having had to type in 4 numbers for every channel on my previous receiver it's nice for me to only have to press 1 or 2 buttons to watch my favourite channels. The channel list is good for people who have the scambled Sky channels, especially ex Sky customers, as the channel numbers are the same as the Sky EPG. If only I could find a current and regularly updated list for a Ferguson receiver! I have channels editor for both Openbox and Ferguson but they are not compatible and it's a lot of work initially. You soon know which channel numbers you regularly view and ignore the others. Not an issue, as cwaite's listing saves a lot of moving channels around. The channels list includes scambled Sky channels which I don't have access to.
